About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare individual federal and state income tax returns
- Collect, review, and organize client-provided tax documents
- Enter tax information accurately into professional tax preparation software
- Review completed returns for accuracy and completeness
- Communicate with clients regarding missing or additional documentation
- Maintain organized and accurate client records
- Protect confidential taxpayer and financial information
- Follow applicable IRS requirements, company policies, and due diligence standards
- Complete required training and compliance requirements
- Deliver customer service and build client relationships
- Meet established deadlines during tax season
- Market tax preparation services and grow the client base through networking, referrals, and community outreach
- Build a book of business through long-term relationships with returning clients
- Represent Polished Talent Group professionally and with integrity
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly
- Previous tax preparation or financial services experience is a plus but not required
- Must have an active IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) or be willing to obtain one before preparing tax returns
- Must successfully complete required tax preparation training before preparing client returns
