About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare individual federal and state income tax returns
- Review, collect, organize, and verify client tax documents for accuracy and completeness
- Enter tax information using professional tax preparation software
- Communicate with clients regarding required documents and return information
- Explain the tax preparation process and request missing documentation
- Follow IRS regulations, applicable tax laws, due diligence requirements, company policies, and tax compliance procedures
- Protect confidential client financial and personal information
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation
- Provide professional customer service and build lasting client relationships
- Meet established deadlines during tax season
- Participate in required training and continuing education
- Market tax preparation services and grow the client base through networking, referrals, and community outreach
- Develop and maintain a personal client base and book of business
- Represent Polished Talent Group with professionalism and integrity
Requirements
What you’ll need- Prior tax preparation experience is preferred but not required
- Reliable and professional
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
- Detail oriented
- Able to communicate professionally with clients
- Comfortable using a computer and learning new software
- Able to complete required tax training
- Able to follow tax preparation and compliance procedures
- Reliable computer or laptop
- Reliable internet connection
- Ability to work remotely
- Ability to maintain client confidentiality
- Ability to meet applicable tax preparer requirements
- Availability during the tax filing season
- Previous experience in tax preparation, customer service, banking, finance, accounting, or administrative support may be helpful but is not required
