Customer Relationship Specialist

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Learn and maintain knowledge of landscaping materials and products sold by the company
- Answer customer questions and provide accurate product information
- Identify customer needs and match them with appropriate product features and benefits
- Provide support services that improve sales representative productivity
- Maintain excellent client relationships
- Serve as first point of contact for urgent calls, emails, and messages when sales representatives are unavailable
- Oversee purchasing activities and maintain inventory availability
- Evaluate vendor performance based on pricing, quality, delivery, and service
- Build and maintain supplier relationships
- Negotiate pricing, purchasing terms, and vendor agreements when appropriate
- Analyze purchasing trends and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Support sourcing initiatives for new vendors and products
- Identify new leads and cultivate potential client relationships
- Support the sales team in discovering and developing new business opportunities
- Ensure sales representatives have necessary sales support materials
- Oversee customer service processes and monitor service performance
- Resolve escalated customer issues
- Manage office administration, facilities, equipment, and vendor relationships
- Improve administrative workflows and office systems
- Maintain company records and document management processes
- Process customer orders received by phone and email accurately and promptly
- Verify pricing, discounts, and product numbers
- Maintain accurate sales records for senior management reporting
Requirements
What you’ll need- Advanced bilingual English, both oral and written, required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Degree in Business Management or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience required
- Sales or sales-related experience highly preferred
- Experience in the commercial plant nursery or landscaping industry highly preferred
- Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills
- Excellent Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a time-sensitive environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm, factual, and self-confident in stressful situations
- Ability to plan and organize tasks while coordinating with multiple departments
- Knowledge of plant identification in the Southeastern United States highly preferred
