About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Report to the Laboratory Shift Supervisor
- Carry out shift analysis tasks with accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to quality standards
- Prepare samples for analysis, including registration, splitting, crushing, pulverising, and sizing
- Perform AAS and XRF analyses safely, efficiently, and to required standards
- Ensure compliance with laboratory procedures, quality systems, and safety requirements
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe laboratory work environment
- Assist the Laboratory Management Team with additional duties to support smooth laboratory operations
- Work a part-time roster of 3 days on/11 days off, 4 nights on/13 days off, 4 days on/11 days off, and 3 nights on/7 days off, with 12-hour shifts
Requirements
What you’ll need- collaborative team player with strong communication skills, comfortable working within a shift-based environment
- passionate about safety and proactive in maintaining a clean and safe workplace
- experienced in laboratory or mining environments (highly regarded but not essential)
- certificate III in Laboratory Skills (highly regarded but not essential)
- confident with numbers and computer applications, with strong attention to detail
- ability to work a part-time roster involving 12-hour shifts
