About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide project management support for the NCIRD information technology portfolio and related IT activities
- Collect, process, analyze, monitor, and report information related to IT governance, program and project management, CPIC, and EPLC
- Support NCIRD leadership, governance bodies, stewards, project managers, investment owners, and the NCIRD CPIC Team with IT portfolio, program, project management, and governance responsibilities
- Advise stakeholders on policies, processes, procedures, and best practices for IT portfolio, program, and project management
- Support strategic planning, track deliverables and milestones, and provide analytical and administrative support for the NCIRD IT portfolio
- Advise on responses to IT portfolio data calls from OMB, HHS, CDC, and GAO
- Maintain tracking tools and status reports; validate CDC enterprise systems inventory information, monitor data quality, and resolve discrepancies
- Monitor project costs, schedules, and performance data; identify schedule variances and risks; recommend corrective actions; prepare management reports
- Conduct EPLC consultations, identify lifecycle stage gates and documentation requirements, and monitor compliance
- Coordinate operational analysis activities, analyze data, develop reports, and track completion and submission status
- Develop, review, and maintain artifacts and documentation for NCIRD IT management tools
- Maintain the NCIRD governance charter and coordinate charter review and change management processes
- Coordinate IT governance reviews, schedule meetings, and manage logistics
- Draft agendas and briefing materials, document discussions and decisions, distribute meeting minutes, and track action items
- Provide status reporting on pending and completed gate reviews
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and recommend process improvements
- Develop guidance materials, job aids, and training resources; provide IT investment management and governance training to NCIRD staff
- Develop and disseminate communications related to governance, compliance, and portfolio management
Requirements
What you’ll need- Prior experience and knowledge of industry and government best practices on IT project management performing similar senior-level IT technical work at CDC is highly desired
- Prior knowledge of industry and government IT programs and portfolio management best practices
- Experience developing Standard Operating Procedures documentation
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience providing project management services in support of Information Technology (IT) and business requirements
- Minimum 5 years as Project Manager at CDC is strongly preferred
- Experience with CDC Enterprise Performance Life Cycle process
- Experience with CDC Security Assessment & Authorization
- Superior customer interface skills, especially customer communication within a matrix environment
- Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication with attention to detail in documentation
- Ability to deliver on time and on budget
- Risk management skills
- Ability to obtain government clearance
- Ability to obtain Tier 2S with Subject Interview Clearance may be required
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future
- Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of related experience
- PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
