About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Inspect construction projects to confirm procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications
- Observe work to monitor progress and confirm conformance to plans, specifications, construction standards and safety standards
- Verify levels, alignment and elevation of installations
- Examine quality of finished installations for conformity to standards
- Interpret plans and specifications
- Discuss deviations from specified construction procedures and develop recommendations to maintain compliance
- Maintain daily logs of construction and inspection activities
- Compile progress reports
- Document project progress
- Work overtime and outside normal work hours as necessary to meet project requirements and contractor’s schedule
- Travel periodically between project sites
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to work in a field office setting
- Ability to operate standard office equipment
- Ability to read printed and digital materials
- Ability to communicate in person, over the telephone and digitally
- Ability to enter confined spaces
- Ability to walk, stand, crawl, climb and stoop for extended periods to inspect work
- Must have high school diploma or GED
- 10+ yrs inspection experience in water/wastewater industry preferred
- ICC certifications desirable
- Must be able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and grammatically
- Working knowledge of Office 365
- Knowledge of construction processes
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team atmosphere
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Ability to resolve issues based on clearly defined scenarios
- Ability to use feedback to make and adapt decisions
- Possessing an unsuspended and unrestricted driver’s license may be a condition of employment dependent upon work requirements
- Must provide own transportation for travel between project sites
