About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server database objects, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and indexes
  • Create and manage database scripts for releases, schema changes, test data creation, database backups, and deployments
  • Perform SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Support application teams with database-related requirements and web service database integrations
  • Manage database security by granting, reviewing, and maintaining user privileges and access controls
  • Assist with installation, upgrade, patching, and maintenance of database software
  • Participate in physical database design, capacity planning, and database sizing activities
  • Perform database backup, recovery, replication, and routine maintenance tasks
  • Support implementation of DDL changes with proper version control and documentation
  • Conduct monthly database audits and address compliance, security, and performance findings
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams on application releases and stable production environments
  • Maintain technical documentation and adherence to database development and operational standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4–5 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server database development and support
  • Strong expertise in SQL Server database programming and administration
  • Proven experience in performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization
  • Good understanding of database design principles, normalization, and data integrity
  • Familiarity with database deployment, version control, and release management practices
  • Knowledge of backup, recovery, replication, and high-availability concepts is an advantage
  • Experience working in production support environments is preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to contributing to a high-performance, quality-driven engineering team
