About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design the teacher training program at the center of the Model of Learning (MOL)
  • Build adaptable school toolkits, staff and administrator playbooks, and family-facing materials
  • Run the MOL as a product by forming hypotheses, testing them in live classrooms, and iterating based on learning
  • Prioritize what to build immediately versus later while maintaining lean execution and high quality
  • Work hands-on with partner schools in Nepal during onboarding beginning in 2027
  • Define the stable first phase and create the template for future school deployments
  • Determine the required team structure and hiring sequence
  • Set and maintain model standards as authority shifts from the founders
  • Convert Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche’s sessions into reusable training materials
  • Partner with the Nepal research lab to translate research into product and training decisions
  • Liaise with local teams on in-country adaptation and community relationships
  • Direct the quality of finished materials produced by instructional, visual, and media designers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Deep pedagogical expertise and understanding of how children and adults learn
  • Experience designing and delivering programs, curricula, or training used by real teachers
  • Real, lived contemplative experience; familiarity need not be in Tergar’s lineage
  • Fluency in lean product design, including strategic experiments, problem/solution fit, product/market fit, and validated learning
  • Substantial experience in education as a teacher, school leader, curriculum developer, or learning designer
  • Experience building something real and getting it into people’s hands with limited money or staff
  • Some experience directing, mentoring, or building a team from scratch
  • Comfort working directly from a founder’s evolving vision
  • Genuine curiosity about and respect for traditions that may not be one’s own
  • Comfort with ambiguity and changing requirements
