About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the Production Planning and Inventory Control (PIC) function across multiple manufacturing sites
- Lead and develop a multi-site team of Production Planners and Schedulers
- Set consistent planning standards and performance expectations across locations
- Own the monthly SIOP process by integrating demand, capacity, and inventory into an actionable production plan
- Provide leadership visibility into risks and trade-offs
- Build production plans and schedules balancing customer demand, manufacturing capacity, labor, and material availability
- Partner with Supply Chain and Procurement to maintain raw material availability and reduce excess inventory
- Serve as planning partner to Operations, Customer Service, and Sales
- Resolve conflicts involving capacity, priorities, and order fulfillment
- Track planning performance and inventory KPIs using ERP/MRP data, Excel, and SQL
- Drive corrective action and standardize planning processes across manufacturing locations
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives in planning and scheduling
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or a related field
- 6+ years of progressive experience in production planning, production control, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment
- Experience leading planning/scheduling teams
- Experience in Made-to-Order manufacturing; carpet, flooring, or other commercial manufacturing experience strongly preferred
- Experience with Planning and Production Control practices; carpet/flooring manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience managing planning activities across multiple manufacturing locations strongly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- Working knowledge of SQL and ERP/MRP systems
- Experience leading SIOP/S&OP processes
- Ability to travel up to 10% to manufacturing locations, corporate offices, or supplier/customer sites
