About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain custom internal software applications supporting clinical, billing, and administrative operations
  • Translate leadership, supervisor, and end-user directives into requirements and working software
  • Provide daily written status reports and participate in supervision, project, and cross-departmental meetings
  • Build and maintain data ingestion, validation, rule-engine, cross-system matching, and data-quality logic
  • Integrate data from electronic health record systems, ODBC/SQL databases, scheduled file drops, and APIs
  • Implement authentication, authorization, role-based access controls, audit logging, and session management protecting PHI and PII
  • Deploy, configure, and administer applications on servers and virtual machines, including web server, DNS, TLS certificate, scheduled task, and credential lifecycle configuration
  • Lead application rollout and user adoption through training, user guides, support, issue resolution, and feedback gathering
  • Develop automated test suites, continuous integration workflows, live-data validation scripts, and version-controlled code
  • Monitor deployed applications for errors, performance, and data quality issues, remediating defects
  • Evaluate, configure, benchmark, and integrate AI/LLM tools and services
  • Build reporting and analytics features, dashboards, and data quality metrics
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, specifications, design documents, issue logs, user guides, and data mappings
  • Safeguard confidential information and follow security, privacy, HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and AI use policies
  • Support additional projects, assignments, and department priorities as directed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, TypeScript, or similar) required
  • Working knowledge of SQL, version control, and automated testing required
  • One (1) to three (3) years of software development experience, including building, testing, deploying, and maintaining applications, preferred
  • Experience with AI-assisted (agentic) development tools and Microsoft identity and cloud infrastructure (Entra ID, Microsoft Graph, Azure), preferred
  • Experience with electronic health record systems or healthcare data in a behavioral health or chemical dependency setting, preferred
  • Prior experience in LA County MediCal billing highly preferred
  • Ability to work 8 hours per day, 5 days per week
  • Compliance with TTC security, privacy (HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2), and AI use policies
