About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Advanced Research Center (ARC) in Huntsville, Alabama
Administer Windows or Linux operating systems
Work with AWS cloud infrastructure, virtual machines, or comparable enterprise virtualization technologies
Support the ARC's Hardware in the Loop research and development facility
Develop, integrate, and test complex missile defense systems using computational modeling and simulation resources
Operate and manage systems within RMF or STIG information system environments
Implement IT process automation, containerization, scripting, and DevOps practices
Work with CI/CD, orchestration, service mesh, artifact repositories, and basic networking as applicable

Requirements

What you’ll need

High school diploma or GED equivalent with 6 years relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 2 years related experience
Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 0 years related experience
Active Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance
IAT Level II certification such as SecurityX (formerly CASP+) or Security+
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and virtual machines, or comparable enterprise virtualization technologies
Minimum of three years of experience administering Windows or Linux operating systems
Experience with IT process automation using Ansible and similar tools
Experience with Docker and Podman containerization, installation, and configuration
Scripting experience using tools such as Python, Bash, PowerShell
Experience operating under and managing systems within RMF or STIG information system environments
Experience with DevOps architecture leveraging automation, containerization, and GitOps, using GitLab/Jenkins/ArgoCD for CI/CD, Kubernetes (K8s) for orchestration, Istio for service mesh, and Nexus/Harbor for artifact repositories
Understanding of basic networking, including subnets, routing, and VLANs
US citizenship required
Active Secret clearance to start
