About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Create user experiences and interfaces for product prototypes according to industry standards and best practices
- Translate user needs and business requirements into experiences across web, mobile, and AI-driven touchpoints
- Create user journeys, user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes across multiple devices and interfaces
- Create low- and high-fidelity prototypes using AI-assisted tools to explore and iterate on concepts
- Design generative AI features that transform users’ tax filing experience
- Help define AI-native experiences across the Taxwell product ecosystem
- Develop reusable AI-informed design patterns and interaction paradigms across products and surfaces
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, research, and data science to define, iterate, and ship features
- Recommend metrics to define, manage, and measure design success and prioritize enhancements
- Present strategies and recommendations to design partners and stakeholders
- Use expertise, storytelling, and persuasion to influence product vision and design
- Measure and explain design value using qualitative and quantitative data
- Evaluate emerging AI capabilities and translate them into product and design opportunities
- Lead cross-functional AI initiatives and facilitate AI training for the design team
- Build AI-driven pipelines and agent-driven workflows for customer feedback, specifications, prototypes, and production shipping
- Establish quality standards and guardrails for AI-augmented work and AI-powered experiences
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent expertise in User Experience, Interaction Design, Communication Design, Information Architecture, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise designing solutions for software, web applications, or mobile native apps
- 3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise using industry-standard design and prototyping tools such as Figma
- Deep proficiency with AI-powered design tools and workflows
- Track record of integrating AI capabilities into the design process and championing adoption across a team
- Experience designing AI-powered features or products and shipping them to production with real outcomes
- Experience influencing, negotiating with, and gaining stakeholder buy-in, including leadership
- Experience applying design decision-making processes and incorporating data and key findings into designs
- Experience supporting the iterative design process end-to-end, including wireframing, prototyping, user testing, and high-fidelity visuals
- Foundational understanding of common design heuristics and principles
- Ability to accept feedback gracefully and push back respectfully when appropriate
- Accountability for own work and AI-assisted outputs, deadlines, and shipped quality
- Ability to deliver impactful presentations and use storytelling to influence and persuade
- Examples of redesigning design processes with AI at the core
- Resume must include a link to a design portfolio
- Preferred: Master’s degree or equivalent experience
- Preferred: Experience shipping end-to-end AI workflows to production with measurable outcomes
- Preferred: Proficiency with vibe coding and AI-assisted prototyping
- Preferred: Experience evaluating and adopting emerging AI technologies
- Preferred: Understanding of responsible AI principles, including bias awareness, transparency, and user trust
- Preferred: Experience enabling designers to ship code in production
