About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, implement, and test frontend and backend features across tax filing systems
Debug and resolve application issues, improving performance and reliability
Participate in design and code reviews
Collaborate with product, design, and QA to scope and deliver reliable features on time
Write testable, production-quality code, leveraging AI tools when appropriate
Contribute to overall system maintainability
Build deep understanding of the tax filing domain, system architecture, and codebase
Challenge assumptions, propose improvements, and contribute to technical design and delivery decisions
Take ownership of complex features and solve challenging technical problems across mature and evolving systems

Requirements

What you’ll need

5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong experience developing applications with .NET
Experience with Vue and/or Angular
Exposure to C++ is helpful but not required; comfort learning and working with C++ as needed
Familiarity with Microsoft development tools and workflows such as Visual Studio, SQL Server, and Azure DevOps
Experience building, debugging, and maintaining production systems
Ability to independently break down complex problems, evaluate solutions, and drive work through completion
Experience contributing to technical design discussions and code reviews
Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools, and willingness to continue developing that skill
