About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver a superior customer experience while driving profitable business growth
  • Expand the portfolio and maximize the value of existing agricultural customer relationships across credit and non-credit products and services
  • Conduct credit analysis for the assigned portfolio
  • Develop a shadow portfolio of target agricultural businesses aligned with market opportunities
  • Work with internal and external subject matter experts and lending advisory groups to deliver tailored financial solutions
  • Lead all aspects of account management, credit and operational risk for an assigned portfolio
  • Build customer and market knowledge and respond to changes in the business environment
  • Develop centre of influence strategies and relationships
  • Identify customer and prospect referral opportunities to internal Bank partners
  • Participate in networking events and enhance the TD brand
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to attract, acquire and retain customers
  • Build new relationships and deepen existing relationships using the Business Banking Relationship Methodology
  • Promote the full suite of products, sales, services and banking capabilities
  • Meet or exceed business targets
  • Prepare credit applications and oversee account management, monitoring and limits
  • Renew credits in a timely manner
  • Refer business opportunities across Business Banking, TD and related business lines
  • Identify, manage and escalate risks and ensure regulatory and operational compliance
  • Participate in team activities, knowledge transfer, cross-training and performance development
  • Keep stakeholders informed of project and day-to-day activity status
  • Provide mentorship and share best practices
  • Lead and develop relationships with internal and external business partners and stakeholders
  • Act as a brand ambassador for the business area and TD Bank

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate/Graduate degree and/or 5+ years of relevant experience and/or Associate Program
  • Experienced working professional accountable for origination of new business and relationship management of existing customers
  • Experience managing a portfolio with moderate cash management, deposit and credit complexity requirements
  • Ability to interpret and analyze customer financial statements with credit acumen
  • Solid knowledge of products, sales, services, credit management practices and processes, methods and operating standards
  • Knowledge of agricultural customers, markets and industries
  • Ability to prepare high-quality credit applications, including risk assessment, credit structure, due diligence and credit presentation
  • Ability to manage credit and operational risk and comply with regulatory and operational risk requirements
  • Ability to negotiate relationship profitability based on customer risk profile
  • Ability to solve problems of moderate complexity and recommend product and service solutions
  • Ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work under moderate guidance and supervision
