About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical expertise on actuarial analyses by reviewing, challenging, and refining assumptions, methods, and recommendations in line with pricing governance and actuarial standards
  • Coach and develop junior actuaries through hands-on guidance and peer reviews
  • Monitor competitor actions, industry trends, and regulatory developments and translate insights into pricing and segmentation opportunities
  • Lead mid-to-complex rate and pricing initiatives to drive profitable growth
  • Facilitate regulatory engagement through rate changes by preparing and reviewing filings, presenting proposals to rating boards, and navigating approval questions
  • Execute end-to-end delivery of approved pricing changes
  • Implement controls to ensure pricing accuracy and compliance
  • Communicate clearly with leaders and stakeholders following rate changes
  • Foster continuous improvement and innovation
  • Report to a Senior Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • University degree in Actuarial Sciences or closely related field
  • 7+ years in a P&C Actuarial function
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel
  • Proficiency and interest in programming, notably with SQL, R and/or Python
  • Advanced analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Autonomous and resilient; shows initiative and creativity in their work
  • Prior experience with Predictive Modeling is an asset
  • Prior experience with modern rating engine migration is an asset
  • FCIA/FCAS completed or at least 7+ Casualty Actuarial Society professional exams
  • For Quebec: maîtrise d’une langue autre que le français pour offrir du soutien ou traiter avec les clients qui ont besoin de services et de soutien dans une langue autre que le français
