About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Partner with supported business lines using bank operations knowledge and skills
- Analyze business processes and procedures to identify process improvement opportunities and increase operational efficiency
- Facilitate documentation of processes and controls
- Serve as subject matter expert on assigned units' functions and processes
- Define, design, and support process improvement initiatives across multifunctional areas
- Partner with IT, Ops Innovation and Excellence, Risk Management, and other teams to deliver process improvements
- Challenge existing processes and recommend changes
- Identify process risks or potential failures and recommend controls
- Ensure alignment with customer expectations
- Partner with unit managers to provide support
- Manage the technology change control process as needed
- Work on and occasionally lead special projects
- Manage 3–6 medium- to high-complexity processes
- Support business strategy, goals, and objectives
- Identify and recommend process improvements and automation opportunities
- Gather, prioritize, and explain user requirements for projects, process improvements, and systems development
- Serve as a consultant providing business and operational process expertise and recommendations
- Prioritize and manage own workload and potentially others' workloads to meet timelines
- Coordinate with business units, external service providers, and other bank areas on high-risk/high-impact projects and operational processes
- Use project management software, tools, templates, and databases to document, track, monitor, and report information
- Prepare and complete supporting documentation, including reports, change requests, presentations, invoices, correspondence, tables, charts, and files
- Own or assist with issue resolution and escalate issues as appropriate
- Execute assigned deliverables within specified parameters as a team member
- Keep business leaders and team members informed about project progress and day-to-day activities
- Continuously develop knowledge in the assigned area
- Lead and manage direct reports through coaching and feedback
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of bank operations experience
- Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Suite software
- Aptitude and training in Lean, Six Sigma, and AOM, with the goal of obtaining some level of certification and expertise
- Skilled in research, analysis, problem solving, metrics, and reporting
- Ability to identify process gaps and weaknesses
- Strong interpersonal and influence skills to enable change without direct control
- Ability to prepare and present findings and recommendations methodically
- Skilled in time management and driving tasks to completion
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Ability to consult on the largest and most complex projects
- Occasional domestic travel
- Ability to perform continuous sedentary work, multiple tasks, standard office equipment operation, prolonged concentration, reading, writing, comprehending instructions, and basic arithmetic
