About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Conduct in-depth industry and financial analysis of existing and potential borrowers
  • Prepare sophisticated three-statement financial projection models
  • Support the Lending and Credit functions of the Bank
  • Research industry-specific information from borrowers, publications, libraries, other banks, credit agencies, and the Internet
  • Participate in Customer meetings and make direct inquiries for specific Customer information
  • Perform underwriting analysis of borrowers’ character, creditworthiness, and financial condition
  • Provide analytical support to the lending function
  • Prepare approval memorandums for presentation to lending and credit authorities
  • Analyze financial statements, management profiles, business and product cycles, cash flow ability, collateral, and agings
  • Identify trends, measure performance, assess financial strength, and develop credit risk assessments
  • Maintain credit files and monitor updated financial statements
  • Prepare updated analysis memos
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Identify deviations from the Company Commercial Loan Policy
  • Become familiar with alternative structures to reduce credit risk
  • Achieve operational performance standards for quality and timeliness
  • Work under review and monitoring by lead staff

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years related experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of credit and financial analysis techniques
  • Familiarity with 3 statement financial projection modelling
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Developed PC skills, including proficiency and capability in word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of credit and Customer information
  • Good interpersonal skills and team orientation
  • Ability to perform basic financial analysis of less complex loans, industries, and Customers
  • Occasional domestic travel may be required
  • Ability to perform sedentary work and sit continuously
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks continuously
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment continuously
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Ability to concentrate for long periods of time
