About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Underwrite, oversee credit risk, and manage portfolios for complex commercial lending relationships, primarily Special Mention and Classified-rated borrowers
  • Administer and monitor a large portfolio of complex commercial loans
  • Personally manage loan relationships within the group
  • Maintain accurate customer records and files and prepare in-depth management reports
  • Monitor credit administration, exceptions, and risk management metrics
  • Administer existing loans for conformity with terms and adequate documentation
  • Prepare criticized asset reports and review memos
  • Coordinate with operations and processing areas to ensure loan payments are collected and recorded
  • Maintain current customer risk ratings and update credit-file comments
  • Accompany loan officers on sales calls to assist with account details and implementation
  • Provide technical guidance and assist staff with complex work
  • Train and mentor new and less experienced staff
  • Coordinate with the credit department and perform in-depth financial analyses and credit investigations
  • Contribute to group loan decision processes based on credit-risk evaluations and other factors
  • Visit customers independently and with commercial loan officers to maintain business relationships
  • Manage assigned accounts and/or share account-management responsibilities with commercial loan officers
  • Perform periodic customer-site inspections to audit accounts and ensure adherence to loan agreements and terms
  • Utilize limited personal credit authority under the Relationship Manager’s direction

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 4 year degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years related experience
  • In-depth understanding of commercial credit decision process
  • Credit, financial analysis, and accounting skills
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Proven customer service and relationship management skills, including a demonstrated track record of building and expanding customer relationships
  • Attention to detail

  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient PC skills
  • Ability to perform occasional domestic travel
  • Ability to perform sedentary work and multiple tasks continuously
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment continuously
