About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide technical leadership across the overall Analytics function
  • Explain complex data analysis-related material during client interactions
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise AML/CTF models and AI solutions
  • Support regulatory requirements and TD’s global AML/CTF strategies
  • Address emerging financial crime risks and support customer rating, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, model performance monitoring, analytics, and reporting
  • Lead and complete complex initiatives integrating cross-functional processes
  • Work independently on analysis, design, and support of technical data management solutions
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects and longer-range functional planning
  • Work with business owners to identify opportunities and serve as a data science ambassador
  • Translate business problems into viable data science solutions
  • Extract and prepare data, apply statistics and advanced analytics, and derive insights from big data
  • Visualize insights and communicate results to decision-makers and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and application developers to build scalable data science solutions
  • Provide analytical thought leadership and educate the organization on hypothesis testing and statistical validation
  • Identify risks, provide guidance, and lead remediation plans for performance, risk, and governance issues
  • Monitor service, productivity, efficiency, and continuous process improvements
  • Manage relationships across business lines and control functions
  • Maintain risk management and control aligned with regulatory requirements and risk appetite
  • Mentor others, share knowledge, and contribute to team development

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Applicants must be either a U.S. citizen or a U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder)
  • Must not require current or future TD sponsorship
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, or progressive project work experience with a preferred undergraduate/advanced technical degree
  • Strong foundation in statistics, regression, classification, machine learning models, and anomaly detection techniques
  • Strong numerical intuition and ability to evaluate model outputs, data quality, and performance trade-offs
  • Proficiency with Python and SQL
  • Experience in Financial Crimes / Compliance Risk Analytics is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with GenAI applications, including fine-tuning or prompting LLMs, is a strong plus
  • Ability to build analytical solutions using LLM APIs and use GenAI applications to develop data labeling solutions
  • Ability to work with data infrastructure, big data, and advanced analytics
  • Ability to collaborate with data and business analysts, software engineers, data engineers, and application developers
  • Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including continuous sedentary work, sitting, concentration, reading, writing, and arithmetic
