About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Ensure development teams deliver stakeholder-focused product increments
  • Align with Product Owners and senior management around product vision
  • Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog
  • Manage delivery blockers and assess customer feedback
  • Maximize product and delivery-process value through continuous improvement
  • Hire talent, set goals, develop staff, manage performance and compensation decisions, and handle disciplinary actions
  • Provide specialized product-development support using deep product and Agile/Scrum expertise
  • Advise executives, business segment leaders, and stakeholders
  • Lead program design, policy formulation, operating standards, and functional initiatives
  • Recommend product, technical, functional, and operational improvements
  • Provide leadership guidance and collaborate with business partners on complex projects and programs
  • Partner with senior management to deliver product vision
  • Re-prioritize user stories and define roadmaps, Minimum Marketable Features, Minimum Viable Products, and release cadence
  • Review performance analytics and champion product-experience improvements
  • Participate in Scrum or Kanban events
  • Prepare business-process partners and establish Day 2 processes for application changes
  • Oversee user-story design, development, completion, and acceptance/rejection
  • Manage delivery initiatives and multiple development-team backlogs
  • Raise delivery impediments and manage defect prioritization
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise frameworks, regulatory requirements, controls, and risk policies
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews and define OKRs with stakeholders
  • Identify, mitigate, escalate, and report risks and regulatory-compliance issues
  • Lead cross-functional and enterprise initiatives as a subject-matter expert
  • Facilitate action and remediation plans for performance, risk, and governance issues
  • Develop strategic priorities and annual or long-term plans
  • Lead, coach, develop, recruit, and manage a high-performing team
  • Foster a diverse, equitable, and cohesive team environment
  • Occasional domestic travel; sedentary, office-based work

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate degree and/or product certificate required
  • Graduate degree preferred
  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • 5-7 years Product Owner or Agile-related delivery experience
  • CSPO certification and project management experience considered an asset
  • SAFe certifications or experience operating in scaled agile delivery considered an asset
  • Experience developing and owning tooling and producing reporting for Global Compliance programs at a large FI or G-SIB
  • Experience building logical data models for Risk Assessment
  • Expertise building system requirements from business requirements for Risk Assessment programs
  • Expertise building and updating complex datasets spanning multiple risk components
  • Experience working with eGRC vendors and third-party content vendors
  • Proficiency with the Reg Change Management lifecycle
  • Policy Management experience, including policy inventories, workflows, LRR linkages, controls, governance, and accountability
  • Monitoring and Testing experience, including monitoring inventories, testing integration, and automated testing methodology
  • Issue Management integration experience
  • Ability to work on-site in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States of America
