About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design and deliver scalable, compliant, customer-centric solutions for onboarding, customer management, and advice
- Modernize how customers discover, apply for, and manage products across digital and assisted channels
- Equip branch advisors with integrated tools and insights
- Drive headless API-first, event-driven architectures and seamless system/channel integration
- Understand business needs and provide practical architecture and technology solutions aligned with long-term vision
- Design software across database, application, client, infrastructure, middleware, build, test, and deployment layers
- Advise on technology stacks, security, scalability, constraints, and future design impacts
- Lead code reviews, prototypes, configuration management, integration, and build automation
- Monitor and report on product/project/application progress and collaborate with designers, engineers, and business stakeholders
- Design tests, support issue analysis and fixes during testing, and resolve production issues
- Mentor and train junior colleagues and contribute to capability creation
- Set service-level objectives and exercise key FSA decision rights
- Focus on reliability, scalability, and complex architectural infrastructure
- Develop observability standards and production performance measurements
- Lead governance, regulatory, compliance, audit, and operational-risk interactions
- Contribute expertise to cross-functional and enterprise initiatives
- Ensure products and projects comply with technology architecture and development standards
- Identify architectural gaps, emerging trends, technology debt, and resilient-solution improvements
- Map business processes to technology solutions
- Track code changes through control systems
- Manage risks, escalate high-risk activities, and maintain risk-management processes

Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate (Graduate degree preferred)
- 10+ years relevant experience developing a variety of platforms
- Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Pair programming and/or Test-Driven Development is an asset
- Ability to author Unit, Integration and Functional Tests
- Demonstrated experience with leading technical tools integration in a complex environment
- Depth and breadth in modern architecture practices, including public cloud, AKS/Kubernetes, microservices, UI frameworks, event-driven and streaming architectures, caching technologies, and relational and NoSQL databases
- Expertise in Domain-Driven Design, including domain decomposition, bounded contexts, business capability modeling, and scalable APIs, events, and reusable domain services
- Exceptional collaboration, communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to anticipate architectural gaps and identify emerging trends
- Advanced business acumen and specialized technical knowledge of TD and its applications, programming languages, industry best practices, bank standards, infrastructure, and architectural design/solutions
- Ability to work autonomously on high-profile, complex and/or high-risk technology projects
- Familiarity with Salesforce architecture, data model, integration patterns, and customer engagement capabilities is desirable
- Breadth across the end-to-end customer journey and depth in customer onboarding, customer management, and advice architectures
