About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish the overall vision for a Product Family and multiple functional product groups
- Set strategic vision, create and maintain product roadmaps, manage issue escalations, create business cases, and track financials
- Establish, refresh, and measure Objectives and Key Results
- Provide leadership support to Product Owners and align multiple product backlogs
- Lead people management, including hiring, goal setting, staff development, performance management, compensation decisions, and disciplinary actions
- Oversee the largest and most complex Product Family and Product Groups
- Coach and mentor practitioners, business leaders, and executives
- Lead strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audiences
- Set operational team direction and collaborate on common goals
- Lead product strategy, journey vision, roadmap, backlog prioritization, and delivery goals
- Analyze industry capabilities and establish customer and journey strategy
- Participate in scrum or Kanban events and improve product value and delivery efficiency
- Track customer feedback and benefits metrics and pivot strategy as needed
- Lead business development activities and manage stakeholder relationships
- Manage dependencies and alignment with delivery teams
- Develop business plans, manage budgets and expenditures, and maximize efficiency
- Monitor program progress, risk, finances, platform performance, and business results
- Identify business opportunities and recommend enhancements or modifications
- Maintain risk management and regulatory compliance practices
- Lead, develop, and direct cross-functional delivery teams
- Recruit Product Owners and foster a diverse, high-performing team
- Manage occasional domestic travel and day-to-day team leadership
Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate degree and/or product certificate required
- Graduate degree preferred
- 15+ years of experience preferred
- 15+ years of Product Owner or Agile-related delivery experience
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification and project management experience considered an asset
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certifications or experience operating in scaled agile delivery considered an asset
- Ability to lead complex Product Families and multiple Product Groups
- Knowledge of product strategy, roadmaps, financials, customer feedback, industry trends, Agile principles, risk management, and regulatory requirements
- Ability to manage teams, performance, budgets, business plans, and stakeholder relationships
- Ability to work with product backlogs, scrum or Kanban events, CX ecosystems, and journey mapping
- Ability to perform sedentary work, operate standard office equipment, concentrate for long periods, and read, write, and comprehend instructions
