About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Establish operating structures, governance, partnerships, and management disciplines for Technology executives and business partners
  • Drive alignment across demand, investment, workforce, capacity, delivery, and risk
  • Provide transparency and decision support for strategic tradeoff decisions
  • Oversee portfolios with significant regulatory oversight
  • Manage the portfolio management office for a key business segment or corporate function
  • Manage overall portfolio financials
  • Oversee multiple concurrent, high-complexity IT projects and programs, including Tier 1 projects
  • Lead Tier 1 project or program delivery when required
  • Directly manage Senior Program Directors and Senior Project Managers
  • Provide strategic guidance on escalated, regulatory, and governance-related portfolio issues
  • Manage cross-line-of-business project and program managers and project resources
  • Develop employees and sustainable delivery capability
  • Advise and counsel project teams, program resources, and business partners
  • Coach, lead, mentor, and assess team members
  • Oversee projects, programs, vendors, project managers, and consultants across multiple businesses
  • Allocate resources across the portfolio
  • Oversee succession planning and talent pipelines

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate / Postgraduate degree
  • Project Management Certification required
  • 10+ years relevant experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of project management
  • Exposure to financial management for tracking, forecasting and managing project budgets
  • Effective negotiation, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Ability to attract and develop talent
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners
  • Strategic thinking and strong business acumen
  • Experience guiding cross-functional teams through complex change from concept to execution
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Good judgment in determining which issues to escalate versus resolve independently
