About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define, develop, and/or implement technology controls and information security policies, programs, and tools
  • Provide specialized expertise and guidance on assessing risks, identifying potential gaps, and developing security solutions to mitigate risks and protect the Bank
  • Participate in projects of moderate to high complexity
  • Provide complex reporting, analysis, and assessments at the functional, business line, or enterprise level
  • Participate in complex, comprehensive, or large projects and initiatives
  • Act as a lead expert resource in technology controls and information security for project teams, the business/organization, and outside vendors
  • Act as the primary consultant from the BISO organization to guide technology and business teams through technology risk management processes
  • Review project requirements and planned technical designs to ensure appropriate security patterns are included
  • Conduct risk assessments
  • Manage a portfolio of application risk assessments, including BAU, project, ad hoc, and other assessments
  • Translate technical control requirement gaps into business terms
  • Facilitate conversations between technical, business, and risk partners to advance project efforts

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Information security certification/accreditation an asset
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Expert knowledge of IT security and risk disciplines and practices
  • Background in Technology Risk Management
  • Ability to identify gaps in technology controls
  • Ability to identify compliance gaps and provide security recommendations
  • Ability to review project requirements and planned technical designs for security patterns
  • Ability to support risk remediation or risk acceptance processes
  • Experience conducting risk assessments
  • Experience managing application risk assessment portfolios
  • Ability to translate technical control requirement gaps into business terms
  • Ability to facilitate conversations between technical, business, and risk partners
