About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define, develop, and/or implement technology controls and information security policies, programs, and tools
- Provide specialized expertise and guidance on assessing risks, identifying potential gaps, and providing security solutions to mitigate risks and protect the Bank
- Participate in projects of moderate to high complexity
- Provide complex reporting, analysis, and assessments at the functional, business line, or enterprise level
- Participate in complex, comprehensive, or large projects and initiatives
- Act as a lead expert resource in technology controls / information security for project teams, the business/organization, and/or outside vendors
- Review project requirements and planned technical designs for appropriate security patterns
- Analyze KRI/KPI reporting metrics to identify security improvement opportunities
- Translate technical control gaps into business terms
- Facilitate conversations between technical, business, and risk partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Information security certification / accreditation an asset
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Expert knowledge of IT security and risk disciplines and practices
- Advanced knowledge of organization, technology controls, security, and risk issues
- Experience acting as a lead expert resource in technology controls / information security for project teams, the business, and/or outside vendors
- Experience identifying potential compliance gaps and providing security recommendations to mitigate risks
- Experience reviewing project requirements and planned technical designs to ensure proper security patterns are accounted for
- Understanding of metrics in reporting and ability to identify patterns, themes, and opportunities to improve security from KRI / KPI data
- Ability to translate technical control requirement gaps into business terms
- Ability to facilitate conversations between technical, business, and risk partners
- Occasional domestic travel
- Ability to perform sedentary work, multiple tasks, operate standard office equipment, concentrate for long periods, read/write/comprehend instructions, and perform basic arithmetic on a continuous basis
