About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and support derivatives valuation, trading risk, and enterprise market risk applications
  • Design and implement risk and valuation applications in Java
  • Migrate applications to a new cloud environment
  • Build new applications and refactor legacy applications
  • Influence overall architectural direction
  • Help evolve software from batch-oriented end-of-day processing to intraday processing
  • Lead development of crucial software components
  • Inspire and mentor team members on software development best practices

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate
  • 5-7+ years of Java experience
  • Experience with the Spring tech stack and building microservices using Spring Boot
  • Experience designing and integrating with REST APIs and gRPC endpoints
  • Experience with messaging technologies, including Kafka
  • Experience with Hadoop, Spark, Parquet, or similar Big Data technologies
  • Experience with RDBMS and demonstrable fluency in SQL
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD toolsets, including Maven/Gradle and Jenkins
  • Experience working within an Agile environment
  • Strong understanding of clean coding practices
  • Experience working with scalable and low-latency systems
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience collaborating efficiently within a global team
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with PMs and business sponsors
  • Knowledge of capital markets products, including derivatives and cross-asset products
  • Hands-on experience with market risk, trade valuations, FRTB, VaR, and stress testing processes is a plus
  • Passion for simplifying and automating work, improving efficiency, and helping others
