About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Perform support functions for Loan Processors in Residential Mortgage and Consumer Lending
  • Handle requests from operations and business partners, including regulatory disclosures
  • Work daily and multi-daily reports
  • Act as a subject matter expert and first level of escalation
  • Check and verify files, work, and information submitted by others
  • Ensure reviewed materials are accurate and complete
  • Order and review flood, title, and/or insurance information
  • Order and/or review credit reports and verify Borrower identity
  • Make higher-level decisions, research regulatory guidelines, and make recommendations
  • Assist less experienced staff with problem resolution and provide guidance on regulations
  • Assist the manager with requests as needed
  • Assist in testing new systems, system enhancements, and documentation software
  • Follow up on unresolved issues to ensure resolution
  • Provide feedback to lending operations and business partners regarding regulatory guidelines, including RESPA and MDIA
  • Ensure work complies with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines, including Dodd-Frank, RESPA, Fair Lending, Know Your Customer, Bank Secrecy Act, and anti-money-laundering policies
  • Take primary action and escalate files with concerns to supervisors or appropriate departments, with analysis and recommendations for next steps
  • Contact customers, third-party vendors, or employees to exchange or verify information or provide feedback

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years related experience required
  • Knowledge of Company policy and applicable regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to apply standardized sets of parameters to specific problems or files in order to facilitate resolution
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize activities based on business objectives
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to research and uncover questionable information in reviewed work
  • Ability to resolve problems efficiently and tactfully with minimal coaching or direction
  • Title experience preferred
  • Processing experience preferred
  • Underwriting experience preferred
  • Must be able to commute into one of the following office locations: Mt Laurel, NJ; Charlotte, NC; or Jacksonville, FL
  • Ability to perform sedentary work and operate standard office equipment
  • Ability to concentrate for long periods of time
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic
