About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and develop a team overseeing TD’s Sanctions and Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption compliance programs
- Review, investigate, and resolve escalated sanctions cases and potential OFAC violations
- Maintain and enhance sanctions screening and monitoring processes
- Provide oversight and regulatory guidance to business partners
- Oversee risk-based reviews of customers, transactions, and business relationships
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, risk management, corporate, and functional teams
- Manage daily sanctions and ABAC compliance operations and escalate complex issues to senior management
- Provide training, coaching, feedback, and professional development to team members
- Support regulatory exams, audits, internal audit activities, and compliance reporting
- Recommend and implement improvements to procedures, processes, systems, and controls
- Monitor emerging regulatory issues, trends, and requirements and assess their impact
- Develop strategic priorities, annual plans, and long-term plans for the function
- Recruit, manage performance, recognize achievements, and foster a diverse, high-performing team
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional and enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert
- Maintain a culture of risk management and control aligned with risk appetite
Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate Degree
- Advanced degree, professional accreditation, and/or 5+ years relevant industry experience
- Knowledge of U.S. sanctions regulations and OFAC sanctions programs
- Knowledge of sanctions and Anti-Bribery/Anti-Corruption (ABAC) compliance
- Experience with sanctions screening and monitoring processes
- Understanding of relevant business practices and compliance requirements
- Ability to manage escalated, high-risk, and non-standard issues
- Ability to prepare for and support regulatory exams and audits
- Ability to manage employee performance, coaching, development, and compensation decisions
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and perform sedentary office work
- Occasional domestic travel; no international travel
