About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage the creation, implementation, and validation of risk segmentation strategies, including adjudication, account management, exposure management, risk segmentation, and financial return optimization
  • Provide critical information, interpretation, detailed analysis, and credit risk strategies aligned with TD's risk appetite and governmental requirements
  • Investigate, create, implement, and validate risk segmentation strategies and policies using complex data, advanced analytics, and business intelligence tools
  • Demonstrate governance, control, and risk management behaviors aligned with TD policies and practices
  • Lead or participate in new initiatives, workflow development, services/applications, operational efficiencies, special project teams, and cross-functional work groups
  • Develop and enhance credit risk assessment capabilities for new and existing clients
  • Perform detailed analysis and make recommendations to Senior Management on critical strategies and ad-hoc requests
  • Create regular reports on implemented strategy results using quantitative methods and MIS
  • Recommend ways to increase efficiency and revenue while managing credit risk
  • Work cross-functionally with teams outside of risk
  • Coordinate with Internal Audit and External Regulators to maintain complete, current process documentation
  • Ensure sound credit control and proactive risk management within bank guidelines
  • Communicate relevant issues promptly and maintain effective relationships with internal and external groups

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years' experience required
  • Proficient PC skills, including strong competency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with PC-based analytical and reporting software packages
  • Experience with relational databases and Extract Transform Load (ETL) using SQL or SAS
  • Familiarity with analytical or reporting tools such as SAS, R, Matlab, and Tableau
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in data modeling and risk management
  • Background in business administration, statistics, mathematics, science, or finance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience developing and presenting recommendations to Senior Management
  • Advanced experience in SQL, SAS, and Python preferred
  • Credit Risk Management experience preferred
  • Experience in modeling preferred
  • Advanced data analytics experience preferred
  • Cross-functional collaboration experience preferred
  • Experience with AI preferred
  • Master's degree in economics, finance, and/or statistics preferred
  • Occasional domestic and international travel
