About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide event management consulting to TD Securities businesses
  • Represent the Events Team on projects and initiatives
  • Provide high-level client service with creative and innovative event solutions
  • Direct and coordinate internal and external corporate events, including industry conferences, trade shows, golf tournaments, and employee events
  • Ensure events align with business objectives, firm core values, and execution standards
  • Prepare budgets, cost allocations, and post-implementation reviews
  • Oversee and maintain creative templates in coordination with Marketing and Technology
  • Handle special marketing projects requested by executives
  • Liaise with external vendors and suppliers
  • Negotiate favorable contracts and preferential pricing for TD
  • Research and pitch beneficial events for the firm or departments
  • Identify opportunities to improve event processes and partner/client service
  • Partner with the Event Manager on charitable events and employee giving campaigns
  • Maintain proficiency with required software applications and department systems
  • Manage confidential correspondence and information, escalating issues as appropriate
  • Manage expectations and concerns through verbal and written communication
  • Keep the immediate team informed about project progress and daily activities
  • Participate as an effective team member and contribute to a positive work environment
  • Manage U.S. region season ticket and large arena venue contracts, including ticket supply disbursement and audit tracking
  • Hire, develop, and manage staff; set goals, manage performance and compensation decisions, promote teamwork, and handle disciplinary actions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate Degree or Community College Diploma
  • 3+ years of related work experience
  • Strong project management skills and demonstrated experience
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive in developing and implementing strategies that significantly mitigate risk
  • Superior interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and negotiating skills
  • Experience in a large complex/matrix organization
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Flexible and able to quickly adapt to unfamiliar, ambiguous, or changing conditions
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects as and when required
  • Ability to work on site
  • Occasional domestic travel; no international travel
  • Ability to perform the listed physical requirements, including continuous sitting, sedentary work, operating standard office equipment, concentrating, reading, writing, comprehending instructions, and basic arithmetic
