About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct independent quality assurance reviews of complex Financial Crime Risk Management activities
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, procedures, and quality standards
- Provide effective challenge, identify risks and control gaps, and support remediation efforts
- Contribute to enhancement of QA methodologies and practices
- Advise FCRM stakeholders and teams on enterprise FCRM programs, requirements, changes, and enhancements
- Work with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and related groups on documentation and reports
- Conduct research, assess FCRM risks and controls, and interact with key stakeholders
- Manage policy and training exemption governance and reporting processes
- Assist team members with the Issues and Events system
- Prepare summaries, presentations, briefing notes, and other FCRM status documentation
- Provide FCRM subject matter expertise and advice to business partners
- Develop and deliver training programs
- Analyze and assess FCRM program activities and recommend improvements
- Support risk assessment tools and training activities
- Participate in product initiatives and FCRM-level projects
- Coordinate application of FCRM programs and standards across the enterprise
- Monitor industry developments and evolving regulatory requirements
- Support audits, regulatory reviews, exams, and investigations
- Coach and educate others as a senior analyst and subject matter expert
- Recommend and implement solutions for operational, reporting, process, and analysis issues
- Provide advanced analysis and specialized reporting
- Represent the group as lead or subject matter expert on projects and meetings
- Generally report to a Manager or Senior Manager, Specialized FCRM
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum 5+ years of experience conducting Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews for High-Risk Customers (HRC), including Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and high-risk industries
- Experience performing EDD/AML reviews within Capital Markets, Correspondent Banking, and/or Wholesale Banking environments is considered a strong asset
- Experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Audit or second-line testing functions is an asset
- Understanding of Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) regulatory requirements and Reasonable Grounds to Suspect (RGS) thresholds
- Experience assessing investigative conclusions and regulatory reporting decisions
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
- CAMS, CFCS, or equivalent financial crime certifications are considered an asset
- Ability to meet SLA requirements
- Knowledge of evolving regulatory requirements
- Ability to support internal and external audit and regulatory requirements
