About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide research, analysis, reporting, monitoring, and operational process support within risk management
- Provide expert guidance and advice on risk-related matters
- Support U.S. ORMC governance and reporting through coordination, review, preparation of routines and protocols, team engagement, and leadership concurrence
- Coordinate committee administration, including meeting logistics, attendance tracking, action items, mandate and membership maintenance, and post-meeting distributions
- Support development of executive-level risk reporting and insights, including risk profiles, emerging risks, material events, and program updates
- Collect data, perform quality assurance checks, and prepare synthesized executive-level information for risk oversight and decision-making
- Support regulatory and audit responses and remediation initiatives through reporting, documentation, and stakeholder coordination
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting, governance processes, and operational practices
- Develop and operationalize standards, policies, and processes to identify, report, and mitigate risk exposures
- Analyze potential risks and escalate key risks appropriately
- Support risk measurement by acquiring, analyzing, and reporting operational loss data
- Establish regular risk analysis and reporting on operational loss performance
- Support scenario analysis and reporting on risk issues and impacts
- Contribute to monitoring Key Risk Indicators and identifying key risk drivers
- Conduct research, prepare presentations and communications, and provide industry analysis
- Lead projects and end-to-end processes involving complex risk and resource requirements
- Lead problem resolution for complex issues and provide subject matter expertise
- Collaborate with Risk Management, corporate functions, lines of business, senior management, and other stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Undergraduate degree or technical professional certification and/or 5+ years relevant experience
- Proficient knowledge of risk management, programs, policies, practices, and reporting
- Understanding and experience with various programming tools
- Knowledge of risk management environments, standards, regulations, and mitigation
- Knowledge of current and emerging competitor and market trends
- Ability to lead, plan, implement, and evaluate program/project activities
- Advanced skill in analytical software tools, data analysis methods, and reporting techniques
- Skill in using computer applications including MS Office
- Previous experience in Risk Management or Governance & Control is considered an asset
- Experience in U.S./North American banking regulatory environments is considered an asset
- Experience with Operational Risk Management Programs and Frameworks, including Risk Profiles, Risk Appetite Statement, Issue Management, and Risk Taxonomies
- High proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and MS Office, particularly Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Microsoft Co-Pilot or other AI assistants and Risk Management platforms is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Strong analytical, reporting, and structured problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities while meeting critical deadlines
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
