About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead development and/or implementation of significant or bank-wide technology controls and information security strategies, policies, programs, and tools
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on technical solutions
  • Oversee control and governance activities
  • Identify and assess potential security risks, breaches, and exposures affecting highly complex/high-risk businesses or strategic initiatives
  • Interface primarily with executive and functional stakeholders across the Bank
  • Provide technical leadership, consulting, and direction to larger teams or portfolios on technology controls and information security
  • Foresee issues and gaps and identify emerging industry trends
  • Recommend value-added improvements and enhancements
  • Work autonomously on high-profile, complex, and/or high-risk technology projects

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Information security certification/accreditation an asset
  • Banking/Financial Services experience preferred
  • Security program management experience preferred
  • Architecture or Engineering background preferred
  • Knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, and related cybersecurity frameworks
  • Ability to work autonomously on high-profile, complex, and/or high-risk technology projects
  • Expert knowledge of IT security and risk disciplines and practices
  • Advanced and highly specialized knowledge of organization, technology controls, security, and risk issues
  • Occasional domestic travel
  • Must perform sedentary work continuously and operate standard office equipment continuously
