About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, guide, coach, and develop a team of Credit Analysts
  • Oversee the overall credit portfolio and ensure structured deals meet risk policies
  • Structure and package competitive credit solutions to meet customer needs
  • Resolve customer operational and credit issues and handle escalations for significant risk matters
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners
  • Analyze market, industry, and broader economic factors
  • Develop Centre of Influence strategies and relationships
  • Contribute to referral opportunities for internal Bank partners
  • Participate in network events to enhance the TD brand
  • Develop and implement business plans, growth strategies, and coaching plans for the Unit
  • Set service and control standards and monitor deliverables and results
  • Assess credit applications and review or approve credits within delegated limits
  • Monitor and control the portfolio within approved guidelines and operating procedures
  • Implement TD’s credit and operational risk management strategy
  • Ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are followed
  • Build and retain an engaged, diverse, and high-performing team
  • Foster colleague development, continuous learning, collaboration, and psychological safety
  • Develop strategic priorities and annual or long-term plans for the area
  • Set team targets, conduct ongoing coaching, and complete Quarterly Check-Ins
  • Manage employees in compliance with TD human resources policies and procedures
  • Report generally to the Unit Leader

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate/Graduate degree and/or 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience in commercial credit management and oversight of moderate to highly complex commercial accounts
  • Knowledge of credit structuring, pricing, risk assessment, due diligence, and credit applications
  • Ability to operate within regulatory and compliance guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Knowledge of credit and operational risk management strategies and controls
  • Knowledge of relevant industry issues, market conditions, and economic factors
  • Ability to manage and coach commercial credit analysts and customer service officers
  • Ability to develop and implement business plans, growth strategies, and operational team objectives
  • Ability to review and approve credits within delegated limits and make recommendations on other credits
  • Ability to manage portfolios, profitability, accountability, and operational efficiencies
  • Ability to recruit, develop, and retain diverse talent
  • Ability to manage employees in compliance with human resources policies and procedures
  • Must comply with applicable provincial employment regulations in Canada
