Key responsibilities & impact
  • Act as a strategic partner and advisor for a portfolio of business or functional groups
  • Enable the creation, delivery and measurement of comprehensive learning solutions aligned to strategic business priorities

  • Manage relationships and overall deliverables across multiple phases
  • Act as practice leader and top-level subject matter expert within the specialized HR area
  • Develop policies and practices aligned with the overall Human Resources strategy
  • Oversee complex programs, services and issues with broad business impact
  • Identify and escalate issues with broad corporate implications or risks
  • Lead a team of Human Resources professionals
  • Provide high-quality advice, support, knowledge and counsel to business management and HR teams
  • Monitor and communicate the effectiveness of strategies, programs and practices
  • Develop and manage team resources through recruitment, training, coaching and performance management
  • Oversee the department business plan and monitor actual results
  • Lead and follow up on action planning for employee survey results
  • Develop implementation strategies with HR practitioners
  • Represent TD internally and externally as a subject matter expert
  • Build capability plans to acquire, develop and retain diverse teams
  • Develop and implement operational strategies and objectives
  • Develop and maintain an operating budget and provide financial reports and variance analysis
  • Establish and operate change strategies throughout the organization
  • Ensure operations align with TD's risk appetite, policies, procedures, controls and regulatory requirements
  • Complete required compliance training and ensure team completion
  • Respond to external audit, regulator and compliance requests and findings
  • Maintain appropriate action-plan records
  • Travel domestically occasionally

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or progressive work experience in addition to experience below
  • 10+ Years of related experience
  • In depth knowledge of a specialized Human Resources function
  • Expert communication, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to deal with all levels of management
  • Strong Customer Service orientation and ability to establish strong working relationships with internal and external clients
  • Solid understanding in the learning and development field
  • An analytical mind with orientation to detail for handling initiatives, projects and programs with minimal direction from management
  • Sound knowledge of using analytical software tools and generative AI tools (CoPilot) to perform daily work
  • Advanced knowledge of multiple HR specialties, HR strategy development, HR policy, consulting principles, and banking industry practices and regulations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interpret policies and apply standards to complete assignments in a fast-changing environment
  • Ability to successfully complete required job-specific and compliance-related training
  • Ability to work within TD's risk, compliance, audit and regulatory requirements
