About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Execute engineering strategy for introducing tools and automating build, test, release, and configuration activities
  • Lead creation of solution options and comprehensive end-to-end solutions
  • Coordinate stakeholders supporting development initiatives
  • Develop and document detailed solution designs
  • Act as an application subject matter expert throughout the design and development lifecycle
  • Develop complex applications and systems through programming and coding
  • Create functional, technical, and user-interface designs
  • Consult on requirements and specifications and apply business-function knowledge to design software and systems
  • Review technical deliverables for quality, gaps, and redesign needs
  • Identify, recommend, source, negotiate, and implement buy/build/reuse improvements
  • Define application metrics and performance goals with technology partners
  • Identify and resolve application, data, cross-capability, and cross-release issues
  • Analyze business requirements and recommend solutions within business technology architecture
  • Collect infrastructure environment requirements using technical tools and utilities
  • Work with architects on environment modifications, data conversion impacts, and performance requirements
  • Conduct code reviews, Operational Readiness Reviews, gating, and review sign-offs
  • Lead or implement remediation plans for performance, risk, and governance issues
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and regulatory alignment
  • Identify and manage organizational risks and escalate high-risk activities
  • Support continuous improvement and automation opportunities
  • Mentor and enable team members and share engineering best practices
  • Keep stakeholders informed about project and activity status
  • Generally report to a Practice Lead

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree, or technical certificate
  • Strong academic background, such as computer science or engineering
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience
  • Expert knowledge of the business, broader organization, technical environment, processes, procedures, tools, and relevant technology areas
  • Primary subject matter expertise in multiple areas
  • Expert knowledge of engineering frameworks, technology, tools, processes, and procedures
  • Ability to work independently and/or autonomously as a senior/lead
  • Expertise in application, platform, and infrastructure engineering
  • Knowledge of architecture, infrastructure, and security
  • Knowledge of software engineering methodologies and enterprise frameworks
  • Knowledge of emerging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements
