About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own the end-to-end Market Management agenda for the Financial Institutions and Non-Bank Financial Institutions vertical within Transaction Banking
- Listen to client, competitor, industry, and regulatory signals
- Identify where Transaction Banking should lean in for the FI/NBFI segment
- Translate insights into proactive guidance for Product and Coverage teams
- Create a differentiated market presence through thought leadership, client events, conference strategy, external messaging, and brand/program management
- Define target audiences, priority themes, messaging pillars, and annual goals
- Establish a disciplined approach to monitoring market signals
- Develop forward-looking views of client needs, industry shifts, competitive activity, and regulatory developments
- Align stakeholder priorities with business objectives
- Set the FI/NBFI editorial agenda and lead relevant content development
- Partner with internal subject matter experts and external bodies to develop differentiated insights
- Consult on and contribute strategically to RFP/RFI responses
- Determine TD’s participation in conferences, sponsorships, client events, webinars, podcasts, campaigns, and other channels
- Lead speaker and content strategy, including topic selection, abstracts, executive briefings, rehearsals, supporting materials, and follow-through
- Coordinate with marketing, communications, and public and corporate affairs teams to ensure a consistent enterprise voice
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years in transaction banking, FI coverage, payments/cash management, or adjacent institutional banking roles; or equivalent consulting/strategy experience with significant domain exposure
- Ability to identify and interpret client, competitor, industry, and regulatory signals and translate them into actionable commercial recommendations
- Strong strategic thinking and business judgment
- Ability to determine organizational priorities, engagement, and differentiation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to simplify complex topics and create clear, compelling narratives for different audiences
- Strong understanding of the global FI/NBFI payments landscape, especially Canada and the U.S.
- Exceptional stakeholder management
- Comfortable with ambiguity and cross-functional execution
- Must be able to complete a case study and several rounds of interviews
