About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Design, build, and maintain complex, large-scale web applications using React and TypeScript
  • Own and evolve frontend architecture, including micro-frontend patterns, monorepo setup, and shared component libraries
  • Define scalable state management and data-fetching strategies for server, client, and UI state
  • Contribute to and help govern the design system with UX/UI designers
  • Integrate frontends with backend services and APIs, including API contracts, authentication flows, and data models
  • Drive web performance through rendering optimization, code splitting, bundle-size optimization, and Core Web Vitals improvements
  • Ensure security, accessibility, internationalization, and browser compatibility standards
  • Define and drive frontend testing practices, including unit, integration, visual regression, and end-to-end testing
  • Contribute to build tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments with Docker and Kubernetes
  • Drive adoption of AI-assisted frontend development and establish responsible usage practices
  • Mentor engineers, lead code reviews, and drive technical decisions across teams
  • Shape frontend architecture and act as a technical reference in an agile environment

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with a track record of leading technical topics
  • Expert knowledge of React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript
  • Deep experience with state management and data-fetching libraries such as Redux Toolkit, RTK Query, Zustand, MobX, TanStack Query, or XState
  • Experience building and maintaining design systems or component libraries, such as Storybook, design tokens, and theming
  • Experience with micro-frontend architectures and scalable frontend codebases, including monorepo tooling such as Nx or Turborepo
  • Strong knowledge of modern build tooling such as Vite and Webpack and bundling optimisation
  • Solid understanding of web performance profiling and optimization, including memoisation, virtualization, lazy loading, and Core Web Vitals
  • Experience with REST and/or GraphQL API integration, WebSockets, and authentication standards such as OAuth 2.0/OpenID Connect
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG accessibility and web security best practices, including XSS, CSRF, and CSP
  • Experience with Jest or Vitest, React Testing Library, and Playwright or Cypress
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor and responsible team usage
  • Experience mentoring engineers and working in agile teams
  • Frontend observability and error tracking experience, such as Sentry or OpenTelemetry, is a plus
  • Experience with SSR frameworks such as Next.js or Node.js is a plus
