About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, build and maintain complex, large-scale web applications using React and TypeScript
Own and evolve frontend architecture, including micro-frontend patterns, monorepo setup and shared component libraries
Define state management and data-fetching strategies separating server, client and UI state
Contribute to and help govern the design system with UX/UI designers, ensuring consistency, accessibility and reusability
Integrate frontends with backend services and APIs, collaborating on API contracts, authentication flows and data models
Drive web performance through rendering optimization, code splitting, bundle-size optimization and Core Web Vitals
Ensure high standards for security, accessibility, internationalization and browser compatibility
Define and drive frontend testing practices including unit, integration, visual regression and end-to-end testing
Contribute to build tooling, CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments with Docker and Kubernetes
Drive adoption of AI-assisted development in the frontend and establish responsible workflows
Mentor engineers, lead code reviews and drive technical decisions within and across teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
6+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with a track record of leading technical topics
Expert knowledge of React (hooks, context, concurrent rendering, Suspense), TypeScript and modern JavaScript
Deep experience with state management and data-fetching libraries such as Redux Toolkit, RTK Query, Zustand, MobX, TanStack Query or XState
Proven experience building and maintaining design systems or component libraries, such as Storybook, design tokens and theming
Experience with micro-frontend architectures and scalable frontend codebases, including monorepo tooling such as Nx or Turborepo
Strong knowledge of modern build tooling such as Vite and Webpack and bundling optimisation
Solid understanding of web performance profiling and optimization, including memoisation, virtualization, lazy loading and Core Web Vitals
Experience with REST and/or GraphQL API integration, WebSockets and authentication standards such as OAuth 2.0 / OpenID Connect
Strong knowledge of web accessibility (WCAG) and web security best practices including XSS, CSRF and CSP
Experience with frontend testing tools such as Jest or Vitest, React Testing Library, and Playwright or Cypress
Hands-on experience with AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot or Cursor and a clear view on how to use them responsibly in a team
Experience mentoring engineers and working in agile teams
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Experience with frontend observability and error tracking such as Sentry or OpenTelemetry is a plus
Experience with SSR frameworks such as Next.js or Node.js is a plus
