About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain fixed asset management system records for capital assets, including acquisitions, disposals, depreciation, amortization, and journal entries
- Review capital investment proposals and assist Operations in creating them
- Set up capital projects
- Lead Construction in Progress reviews
- Ensure timely capitalization of assets
- Prepare Capex and depreciation forecasts
- Lead Capex forecast meetings with leadership
- Complete month-end journal entries, project settlements, accounting reconciliations, and balance sheet flux analysis
- Prepare monthly schedules and analyses
- Audit asset cycle count programs and asset utilization reports
- Support internal and external audit requests for fixed assets
- Assist with field inventory audits
- Develop asset month-end reviews and internal controls
- Liaise between Finance and the Asset Management Team
- Recommend process improvements and analyze cost trends
- Serve as backup for other business line asset accountant
- Maintain compliance with company policies, GAAP, and internal controls
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA/BS in Finance or Accounting
- At least 5 years of related experience
- Manufacturing experience is a plus
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
- Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets
- Solid SAP experience
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Organized with well-developed time management skills
- Ability to work independently and solve complex problems with minimum supervision
- Ability to prepare and deliver presentations
- Strong communication skills with employees, managers, and upper management
- Advanced interpersonal and leadership skills
