About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead project engineering, new product and technology development, product improvement, product standardization, and product qualification projects
  • Serve as technical point of contact and communication focal point for assigned project or product scope
  • Assess project needs against product-line standardization strategies to reduce execution risk
  • Develop product design, geometry standards documentation, and product qualification requirements
  • Ensure quality and on-time delivery of assigned projects
  • Create and review part reports, drawings, engineering specifications, and standards
  • Support and manage project schedules and deliverables
  • Provide management with technical assistance and progress updates
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to Product Engineers and Designers/Drafters
  • Independently review and approve work packages and engineering change notices
  • Provide vendors with technical assistance and build working relationships
  • Work to Surface wellhead systems industry codes, TechnipFMC standards, and client specifications
  • Plan and execute technical deliverables independently
  • Provide technical leadership to engineers, designers, and drafters
  • Facilitate design reviews, technical meetings, root-cause analyses, and non-conformance corrective solutions
  • Consult globally with Product Responsible Engineers and Subject Matter Experts on equipment designs, materials, quality, and welding issues
  • Work closely with project engineering, supply chain, and product development teams
  • Provide weekly/monthly progress updates to project management
  • Support Quality Notification dispositions and supply chain issues
  • Capture customer requirements into product standards
  • Provide expert technical support for manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, FAT, and SIT activities
  • Understand and comply with TechnipFMC HSE and Quality policies

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Degreed Mechanical Engineer
  • At least 8 years of Engineering experience in Surface wellhead systems, reduced to 6 years for Masters/PhD candidates
  • Demonstrated experience supporting engineering for surface projects constrained by safety, quality, delivery, and cost requirements
  • Experience reviewing and approving engineering designs, documents, layouts, calculations, and interpreting FEA/structural analysis results
  • Strong knowledge of engineering discipline and physical modeling techniques, including solid mechanics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer
  • Experience conducting design analysis including hoop stress, flexibility, buckling, burst, and fatigue
  • Work experience with API 6A and NACE MR 0175
  • Good-to-have knowledge of ASME, API 6FA, API 5CT, and ASME 31.3 as related to surface equipment design and manufacturing
  • Exposure to manufacturing processes including forging, hot and cold extrusion, cladding, HIP, and induction bending
  • Exposure to welding codes and practices including ASME IX and API 1104
  • Exposure to NDE codes and practices including UT, PAUT, PT, RT, and MPI per ASME V
  • Ability to manage engineering projects within specified schedules and budgets
  • Demonstrated organization and project planning skills
  • Accuracy, dependability, and ability to manage schedules and prioritize work for self and others
  • Ability to design complex engineering plans and review design work for systems and products
