About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead technical architecture and engineering direction for complex customer engagements
- Shape modern cloud-native architectures and make technology decisions throughout delivery
- Guide engineering teams through complex technical challenges
- Advise customers on architectural options, technical trade-offs and emerging technologies
- Contribute technical expertise to bids, proposals and customer presentations
- Champion modern engineering approaches, including secure and practical AI-enabled solutions
- Collaborate with engineering, architecture, delivery and commercial teams across multiple engagements
- Develop enterprise technology knowledge and share expertise internally
- Lead customer architecture workshops and transformation programmes
- Review solution designs, unblock engineering challenges and coach engineers
- Support bids and customer meetings on cloud strategy, AI and modern engineering practices
Requirements
What you’ll need- Significant experience delivering complex technology solutions within enterprise organisations
- Deep technical expertise in at least one public-cloud hyperscaler, preferably AWS or Microsoft Azure
- Experience designing enterprise-scale architectures using modern architectural patterns
- Understanding of contemporary software engineering practices, engineering principles, delivery approaches and technical decision-making
- Good understanding of AI technologies and architectural patterns
- Experience supporting consultancy sales and bid activities
- Experience delivering AI-enabled solutions in regulated enterprise environments is ideal
- Experience within complex public sector organisations is highly advantageous
- Ability to influence customers, engineering teams and senior stakeholders
