About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor, identify, and resolve component lifecycle issues
- Assist teams in identifying appropriate component resources and substitutes
- Support design teams with component research and qualification
- Manage component obsolescence and lifecycle activities
- Identify alternative parts and recommend solutions to ensure supply continuity
- Investigate alternate component technologies or suppliers to reduce cost or improve quality and reliability
- Prepare test setups and test reports for component qualification
- Approve alternate parts
- Monitor components, assemblies, and sub-assemblies for FITS, RoHS, REACH, CMRT, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Collect datasheets and compliance reports from manufacturers and distributors
- Engage manufacturers in field-reported component failure studies and solution development
- Administer ECR, ECN, and EOL databases and maintain request logs
- Communicate potential impacts and supply continuity matters to design and supply chain teams
- Build productive internal and external working relationships
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3 to 5 years of experience in component design & testing
- BE/B.Tech/ME/M.Tech in ECE/EEE
- Experience with component research and qualification
- Knowledge of component lifecycle, obsolescence, and alternative part identification
- Knowledge of FITS, RoHS, REACH, CMRT, safety, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Ability to prepare component qualification test setups and test reports
- Ability to communicate with manufacturers and distributors
- Experience administering ECR, ECN, and EOL databases
- Effective communication with design and supply chain teams
