About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor, identify and resolve component lifecycle issues
- Identify appropriate resources and substitute components
- Support the design team with component research
- Manage and assist component obsolescence and lifecycle activities
- Identify alternative parts, recommend solutions and ensure supply continuity
- Investigate alternate component technologies and suppliers to reduce cost and improve quality and reliability
- Monitor component, assembly and sub-assembly compliance with FITS, RoHS, REACH, CMRT, safety and regulatory requirements
- Communicate with manufacturers and distributors to collect datasheets and compliance reports
- Engage manufacturers in field-reported component failure studies and develop solutions
- Administer ECR, ECN and EOL databases and maintain request logs
- Communicate with design and supply chain teams regarding impact and supply continuity
- Build productive internal and external working relationships
Requirements
What you’ll need- BE/B.Tech in Electronics Engineering with 3–4 years of experience in the electronic manufacturing industry or an R&D environment
- Diploma in Engineering with 4–5 years of experience in a relevant field may also apply
- Sound knowledge of electronic component selection, qualification and approval processes
- Experience creating test setups for component qualification
- Telecom domain experience is an added advantage
- Knowledge of RoHS, REACH, CMRT and regulatory requirements
- Design understanding and knowledge of schematic and PCB tool usage
- Knowledge of approval processes and ECN/ECR/EOL processes
