About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Perform all billing and collection activities for assigned fee-for-service and third-party facilities
Handle billing and collections involving Medicare, Medi-Cal/Medicaid, counties, commercial insurance, and members served
Stay current on applicable CPT and other coding changes
Track fee-for-service and/or contract billing rate changes
Communicate coding and billing-rate changes to affected Telecare parties
Travel occasionally to locations where Telecare does business or plans to do business

Requirements

What you’ll need

Five (5) years of prior medical billing experience or two (2) years of college and one (1) year of healthcare experience
Extensive knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal/Medicaid, and commercial insurances
High level of PC literacy, especially in Excel and Word
Ability to operate independently, utilizing extensive reimbursement experience and judgment
Demonstrated capacity to work with sophisticated automated billing systems
Must be fingerprinted and receive clearance from the Department of Justice and the Office of Inspector General
Must be at least 18 years of age
Successful completion of applicable post-offer physical examination
Successful completion of a 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis
Acceptable criminal background clearances and excluded party sanctions
Degree or license verification, where applicable
Must be based in Mountain Time (MT) or Pacific Standard Time (PST)
