About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Architect, design, implement, and manage infrastructure
Ensure seamless deployment and efficient operations
Design and maintain core continuous integration infrastructure for test deployments on virtualized and real lab hardware
Develop systems to efficiently manage shared test infrastructure for developers, testers, sanity testing, and regression testing
Build and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines
Automate deployment processes to accelerate software delivery
Deploy repositories and manage releases for different repository types in Artifactory
Maintain and operate Azure Kubernetes clusters on-premises or in the cloud
Optimize Kubernetes cluster performance and ensure high availability
Collaborate with development teams, product owners, and stakeholders in an Agile environment
Use Jira for issue tracking, sprint planning, and backlog management
Participate in planning sessions to align deployment goals with business objectives
Collaborate with other teams to implement deployment strategies and improve infrastructure

Requirements

What you’ll need

Must be able to work in Canada
Must obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods program (CGP)
Experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar operations role
Experience in a distributed microservice deployment environment
Experience with L2/L3 networking
Familiarity with embedded hardware and cross-compilation tools
Proficiency with Helm for managing Kubernetes applications
Strong cloud experience with GCP, Azure, or AWS
Hands-on experience operating and deploying Kubernetes on-premises or in the cloud
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps
Knowledge of Docker and containerization
Scripting skills in Python and Bash
Experience with Artifactory
Knowledge of containers and Dockerfiles
Knowledge of creating Debian control files for Debian packages
Knowledge of Ansible playbooks
Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK/OpenSearch
Strong understanding of cross-compilation systems for x86_64 and aarch64 architectures and creation of build containers
Familiarity with Zephyr test management tool
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
10+ years of experience in DevSecOps
Experience in aerospace, satellite communications, telecommunications, defense, or other mission-critical environments
Experience in cloud-native systems
