About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build demos, benchmarks, and tutorials that become definitive answers for priority search and AI-answer topics
- Design and publish repeatable latency, throughput, reliability, and cost benchmarks across Telnyx connectivity, Edge Compute, and Inference
- Deploy working builds on cellular modems, gateways, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32 using Telnyx IoT SIM and eSIM
- Create reference builds combining connectivity, private networking, Edge Compute, and Inference, including in-region inference, data residency, and zero data retention setups
- Publish and maintain open-source sample apps and starter kits on GitHub
- Turn each build into tutorials, videos, and social posts
- Gather product feedback from GitHub, Discord, Reddit, and X for Product and Engineering
- Track organic traffic, AI citations, and conversions to determine future projects
- Measure success through search traffic, AI citations, developer signups, product activation, and usage of published benchmarks and repositories
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years in developer relations, solutions engineering, or software engineering
- Public portfolio of demos, sample apps, talks, or technical writing used by developers
- Hands-on coding in Python plus at least one of C/C++, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go
- Experience writing, testing, and debugging code that runs on devices or at the edge
- Experience with IoT or cellular connectivity, such as SIM/eSIM provisioning, APNs, LTE-M/NB-IoT, or MQTT
- Rigorous approach to benchmarking and measurement
- Excellent first-hand technical writing
- Comfortable on camera and able to produce clear technical videos
- Operator mindset: ship working demos quickly, measure results, and improve
- Experience with SEO, content strategy, or AI answer engines is a bonus
- Networking fundamentals such as BGP, IPsec, VPCs, and cloud interconnects are a bonus
- Working knowledge of LLM inference and AI app patterns is a bonus
- DevRel or solutions engineering experience at an IoT, networking, telecom, or cloud company is a bonus
- Published hardware projects on Raspberry Pi, ESP32, or cellular modems are a bonus
- Video editing and visual design skills are a bonus
- Familiarity with compliance needs in regulated industries is a bonus
- Experience presenting live demos is a bonus
