About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and deploy scalable solutions for PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, and other databases in virtualized environments and Kubernetes clusters
Collaborate with engineering to identify and resolve pain points in large-scale, high-availability database infrastructure
Lead migration of database services from virtual machines to Kubernetes with minimal downtime and seamless transitions
Support disaster recovery, backup strategies, and performance tuning for on-premise database systems
Implement and manage observability, logging, and alerting systems

Requirements

What you’ll need

3+ years of professional experience in infrastructure operations, especially in Linux-based systems
Expertise in at least one deployment and orchestration technology: Kubernetes, Ansible, or Terraform, focused on deploying and managing stateful applications
Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages for workflow automation and infrastructure management
Hands-on experience managing at least one relational database such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
Experience with non-relational databases such as Cassandra, OpenSearch, or other distributed data stores
Familiarity with streaming and messaging platforms such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, including scaling and monitoring in distributed setups
Proficiency with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or others
Knowledge of service discovery tools such as Consul or similar technologies is advantageous
