About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define the needs and scope of the A&D function across data infrastructure, data activation and development, and automation
- Govern and improve infrastructure that transforms data from multiple sources into usable assets
- Design a self-serving BI landscape in Looker, own the semantic layer, and bring new data and data products into use
- Help teams automate manual work and drive Temper’s AI-native ambition end to end, from identifying operations through prioritization, solution design, and implementation
- Map workload into roles and hire for those roles
- Determine whether existing data and automation work across the business belongs within the A&D team
- Establish an AI-native way of working for the team
- Build and manage the A&D team
- Report to the CFO and collaborate with Commercial, Marketing, Support, Product, and Finance
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience building or substantially restructuring a small technical team, including hiring, defining roles, growing, and managing the team
- Solid technical grounding in a modern data stack, including BigQuery or a similar warehouse, Dataform or dbt, and Looker or similar BI tooling
- Hands-on implementation experience in a lean team
- Genuine enthusiasm for AI/LLM tooling, including Claude
- Comfort operating with ambiguity around team structure, roles, and organizational fit
- Strong stakeholder management across company functions
- Track record of shipping projects end to end
- Understanding of data governance, guardrails, access control, and traceability
- Fluent English
- Dutch is a bonus, not a must
- Prior experience starting up or restructuring a data/analytics function specifically is a plus
- Experience with GCP and AI/agent tooling in a real production/business context is a plus
- Experience managing a remote team is a plus
