About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead maintenance teams to ensure smooth and safe operation of manufacturing processes
- Provide hands-on technical support and team leadership
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance actions to uphold equipment reliability and availability
- Ensure application of health, safety and environment standards and practices
- Comply with HSE procedures, report incidents or observations, perform inspections, and participate in investigations
- Manage performance of direct reports by applying the CBA and conducting annual performance reviews
- Troubleshoot failures, ensure correct diagnosis, and execute interventions to maintain equipment availability and reliability
- Maintain a visible presence in the mill to foster employee engagement, communication, and work-process effectiveness
- Provide at least 70% on-production-floor technical hands-on support
- Keep risk analyses and environmental aspect assessments updated
- Act as shift leader, coordinating schedules, assigning responsibilities, and ensuring safe working conditions
- Verify technical resource availability and maintain suitable minimum stock
- Manage and update the maintenance information system and technical documentation
- Support Base Maintenance Supervisors with preventive tasks and failure analyses
- Analyze complex topics and recommend courses of action
- Interact autonomously with internal and external contacts
- Ensure compliance with Tenaris policies, procedures, management standards, laws, and regulations
- Motivate, coach, communicate with, and develop staff; manage HR activities
- Protect facilities, equipment, and physical resources from damage, theft, or misuse
- Oversee equipment including pipe cutting machines, hydro testers, coupling machines, conveyors, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, furnaces, and walking beam systems
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3+ years experience in industrial maintenance, trades work or hands-on engineering technician is an asset
- 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Post-secondary education in Electrical Trade (442a preferred) or relevant technician diploma/certification
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics
- Familiarity with manufacturing environment safety procedures
- Previous experience with PLC, VFD, sensors and High Frequency heating equipment considered an asset
- Previous experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, motors, etc. considered an asset
- Previous experience with SAP considered an asset
- Flexibility to work 12-hour rotational shifts, including days and nights
- Ability to work in a steel manufacturing mill
